1. Take Online Paid Surveys
Yes, you can make money from your phone by answering surveys without leaving your house. You won’t even need any experience, just your trusty smartphone and a stable Internet connection.
How do I know this? Because I used Swagbucks to earn extra money! Whenever I find myself bored and just scrolling through memes on my phone, I’ll start answering surveys on Swagbucks. If I’m going to be on my phone, I may as well earn from it, right?
This sounds too good to be true, but here’s the caveat – You don’t earn as much as you might think! While you won’t be filthy rich from answering surveys, it’s the easiest way to make quick money to set aside for your savings or extra shopping allowance.
In my experience, I was able to rake in anywhere between $50 to $250 a month on Swagbucks, depending on the surveys I did. Online surveys would pay anywhere between $0.50 to $5, or even up to $20, and I’d get paid via PayPal.
There are more reputable survey sites besides Swagbucks, though! You can also look into platforms like InboxDollars, KashKick, or SurveySavvy.
2. Food Delivery
If you’re thinking of doing food deliveries to make money ASAP, then you can install DoorDash on your phone and sign up to become a Dasher! This will allow you to accept orders and make anywhere between $2 to $10+ per delivery.
Did you know I used to do DoorDash as a side job? I was looking for something to do during my free time, and it earned me a lot of money since I was working during peak times and staying within popular restaurants.
Besides the pay I got per order, some customers were great tippers, and I got to keep 100% of what they gave me after delivering their food! In fact, there were times I made $500 a week with Doordash since I was working in busy areas during weekends and peak hours.
Another huge plus to being a Dasher was that it got me exploring more of the city. It got me out of the house and I discovered new restaurants I could eat at with family in the future. All I needed was my phone with mobile data and my car to complete deliveries!
You’ll also appreciate the fact that food delivery apps like DoorDash or GrubHub are same-day pay jobs that can process your earnings instantly, though it comes with a fee. For DoorDash, I had to pay $1.99 if I wanted to get my earnings immediately. If not, you can get paid within the week.
3. Freelance Writing
Some people tend to think that freelance writing is a dying career with the presence of AI tools like ChatGPT.
But that isn’t the case. Nothing beats the creative and empathetic human touch! No machine or even the most advanced technology can replicate the art of writing. That’s why you shouldn’t worry, as the demand is still high even amid advanced AI and you can still make money as a freelance writer.
If you’ve got a passion for writing and content creation, this is the perfect overnight remote job for you. It isn’t only a fun job, it pays quite well, too!
The average salary for freelance writers is around $24 an hour, though you can also apply for one-time projects that can pay you immediately after finishing them. So, if you can finish a writing task in an hour, you can get paid right away!
You also have more freedom working as a freelancer. Given the flexibility of freelance writing, you can be working anytime and anywhere, living the life! Just imagine typing away in a completely different country with the beach right in front of you and your job paying for your travels. Isn’t that such a dream?
But wait, what do you need to become a freelance writer?
Beyond writing, it’s also worth possessing other skills, including editing, proofreading, researching, and SEO. These will help you gain an edge against the competition and impress employers.
You’ll never run out of legitimate online jobs that involve writing. Start the job search by checking job boards like UpWork and LinkedIn, where companies are always searching for freelance writers. You can also look into working for content mills or pitching your work to blogs to earn while on the search for a more consistent job.
4. Offer Pet Services
Animal lovers are going to LOVE this job opportunity! As the ultimate dog lover, I would love to spend my days caring for cute dogs with the sweetest smiles.
Dog walking or cat sitting are great jobs for teens and adults alike. There will always be a high demand since there are people who are either too busy to walk their pets or have a demanding job that has them travel often.
If you’re a kid looking to earn extra money as your savings or allowance, you can earn up to $500 a month, just by walking your neighbors’ dogs.
It’s a win-win situation because pet owners will be happy their dogs are getting attention, while you get paid to walk and hang out with animals! Who would’ve thought you could get paid to exercise and have fun?
Start by advertising your services around the neighborhood. This can be through word-of-mouth, sharing it on your neighborhood’s bulletin board (if you have one), or posting on the community’s social media group. You can also make use of apps like Rover, Petsitter, or Wag, where you can post your services to furparents in your area.
5. Instacart
Instacart is another one of the best money-making apps that is comparable to DoorDash. However, instead of delivering food, you are purchasing and delivering groceries.
If you aren’t familiar with Instacart, it’s a grocery delivery service where you can either shop for and deliver groceries full-time, or opt to only do in-store shopping as a part-time job.
Most full-service shoppers can earn $200 a day, on average. If you work whole days, you can earn $300 (or even more) within 1-2 days!
Besides the promising pay, what’s great is that you can set your hours, pick up orders quickly, and not have to deal with too many people. As such, introverts will find this a suitable job where you work alone.
The company will send your money via direct deposit once a week. However, if you want to earn money fast, full-service shoppers can use the Instant Cashout feature to receive their pay immediately, provided that they have at least $5 in earnings.
6. Sell Used Items
You can make money right away without a job by selling your used items. It also doesn’t require a capital investment or any experience, all you need is your phone to take photos and post your things to sell on Facebook Marketplace.
It’s also a great excuse to declutter your home and get rid of things that don’t spark joy. (Marie Kondo, anyone?)
I would sell my used clothes and jewelry from time to time. When I know it’s time to clean out my closet, I turn it into a money-making opportunity to either save… Or shop for new stuff (the necessities only, of course)! Thank goodness for the Internet because I can find the best places to sell jewelry and clothes, so I get money out of my used items quickly.
Besides cleaning out my closet, I realized there were many more things my family had outgrown or never used, all of which could be easily sold online. May it be furniture, gym equipment, or gadgets, I just needed to make sure that I took clear photos and shared all the necessary details, from the prices to the honest condition of my items.
One thing that helped me sell my things so quickly was knowing the best apps to sell clothes, which included Poshmark, Etsy, and Facebook groups.
Besides that, I sold on websites like eBay, Craigslist, and even Facebook Marketplace since they’re filled with interested buyers!
7. Babysitting
If you want to learn how women can make money fast, try babysitting!
It’s a fantastic way to make money in just a single day if you’re in love with kids and have some experience caring for them. Besides that, it’s one of the best side hustles from home since you can offer the option of having parents bring their children to your house.
You don’t need to be an expert or have any certifications to become a babysitter, though I do recommend brushing up on your first-aid skills in case of emergencies. Interpersonal skills and patience are also a must because you’re working with children who may have different ways of expressing themselves compared to adults.
Looking for a slow-paced job caring for kids is simple. Start by posting your services on your community’s bulletin board or online. You may even want to talk with parents in the neighborhood to let them know you’re available as a babysitter when they need to step out of the house.
8. Work As A Virtual Assistant
Do you ever just wish you could work remotely, setting your own hours and being able to sleep in rather than worry about the commute? You might want to consider becoming a virtual assistant, which is one of the top business ideas for stay-at-home moms and anyone else who wants more control over when and where they work.
I’ve met quite a few lovely people who work as virtual assistants, and the number one thing they love about their job is the time flexibility! Besides that, they tell me it’s fairly easy to become a VA, thanks to a growing demand for them from all over the world. As long as you have a laptop, basic computer skills, and the ability to handle administrative tasks, you can start your journey and grow from there.
It also doesn’t matter what industry you’re in, since there are various types of work-from-home jobs you can apply to as a VA that can suit your experience. You can work in real estate, architecture, marketing, healthcare, IT, or law. Some VA jobs may also have you focus on specific tasks, such as social media management, blogging, customer service, or graphic design. There will always be an available opportunity that fits both your schedule and expertise!
Don’t know where to begin your job search? Look into platforms like Upwork, LinkedIn, or Indeed, where companies are always posting job listings for virtual assistant positions.
9. Online Tutoring
Whether you’re a retired teacher who wants to go back to sharing knowledge with little ones or someone who absolutely adores kiddos, then online tutoring is a fantastic job that allows you to make money quickly!
Admittedly, online tutoring jobs are a bit easier to handle than working in a classroom with a few dozen students. You also get to work from home (or anywhere else) while earning almost $60,000 a year on average.
Plus, you’ll love the feeling of fulfillment as you teach kids who might need extra help in certain subjects.
If you’d like to become a tutor, it’s important to have communication and listening skills, as well as certain teaching certifications. For instance, many platforms may require you to get a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification. However, other companies may not require such qualifications, offering people a chance to start tutoring regardless of their experience.
It may also be worth getting certifications in the subject area you plan to tutor in, which can increase your chances of getting a job opportunity.
You can start your job search by checking platforms like LinkedIn, as well as applying to companies that actively search for tutors, including Tutor.com, Cambly, Chegg, and more.
10. Help People Moving
One of the quickest cash jobs is helping people move since you’ll be paid right after the job is done. Check within your network to see if your family or friends need some help moving (for a fee), and you can even post your moving services online on platforms like Craigslist, TaskRabbit, and Dolly.
You’ll find a growing demand for moving assistance, as professional companies can be quite expensive. To save a bit of money, people look for individuals to hire when dealing with heavy furniture or transporting items to a new home.
Another huge benefit of this side gig is that just about anyone can do it, there’s no need for certifications or extensive experience.
If you’re a student wanting to know how to make money in college, here’s a quick and easy opportunity!
Also, while moving and transporting heavy items are known to be side hustles for men, even women can take this on without issue.
As long as you have the strength and good packing skills, it’s possible to start working as a mover. It’s one of the best one-day-a-week jobs as well since you can just accept work during your free time.
11. Flipping Things
Flipping things is one of the top part-time jobs since you don’t need a lot of expertise to start. You can hone your creativity and DIY skills as you create a new treasure out of someone else’s “junk.”
The most popular thing people flip is furniture, as homeowners are always looking for things that are different and give character to their humble abode.
By the way, you’re not limited to flipping furniture! There are a ton of things you can beautify and sell for profit.
For instance, I’ve seen customized handpainted shoes, jackets, and designer handbags, which are a huge hit in the fashion community since they’re always after something you can never find anywhere. So, if you’ve got the creativity skills and unique ideas to transform something into a whole new masterpiece, then there’s potential to make a lot of money.
If you’re planning to sell used furniture or other items you flipped, I recommend posting them all over reputable platforms such as Craigslist, eBay, and Facebook Marketplace. If you’re confused about how to price your products, here are a couple of tips:
- Total the expenses you incurred, including the price of the item you flipped, supplies used, and even transportation fees for getting these items.
- Tally up the number of hours you worked to ensure you are being paid a fair hourly wage.
- Consider doing competitor research to see how much similar items are sold for, which can help you set a good price for potential customers
12. Mystery Shopping
Live out your Confessions of a Shopaholic dream and earn money while doing it!
Come on, who doesn’t want to get paid to shop? I would love to tell people I shop for a living! It also makes me feel like I’m a secret agent going undercover as I purchase new products while taking notes of the establishment and its staff.
While mystery shopper jobs won’t rake in the big bucks in a short amount of time, it’s a fun side hustle that can help with your bills or savings in the long run. What’s great about it is that there may be available tasks in nearby locations, so if you’re planning to run errands, you can multitask and earn.
Expect to travel to different types of stores like supermarkets, banks, restaurants, hotels, retail shops, and more. You’ll also get reimbursed for the items or services you availed, depending on your task!
Many companies offer mystery shopping jobs, with the reputable ones being BestMark, IntelliShop, and Secret Shopper. You’ll need to sign up and submit an application to your chosen company, then after you get in, you can start accepting jobs and earning $18 an hour on average.
