In today’s tough economic times, everyone is looking for ways to stretch their dollars. You might have tried out a few side jobs from home to earn some extra money, or you’ve been using DoorDash gift cards to cut down on what you spend on meals every month.
Attracted by DoorDash’s reputation for safety and reliability, I decided to try out Dashing on the side. Lo and behold, in the span of 11 days, my pocket was $1,018.04 heavier. Yet, it’s those DoorDash gift cards that have really bailed me out so often that I’m considering giving them their own capes.
I’m a real fan of gift cards – they’re my guilt-free spending pass. It allows us to make purchases without the feeling that we’re giving away our “real” money. They’ve definitely cut down on how much cash I carry in my wallet and made clicking ‘buy’ online too easy.
What’s even more enticing is that DoorDash gift cards make it seem like we’re receiving food for free. Food just hits the spot better when you don’t have to fork over the green stuff. Imagine savoring a delightful taco without spending a dime. Mmm, free tacos…
Speaking of such indulgences, even though we don’t see gift cards as a daily treat, they’re commonly the default gift when people close to you aren’t sure what to give you on special occasions.
But how can we get more of these delightful gift cards? Fortunately, the digital world exists and offers many opportunities to earn extra money, including gift card DoorDash hacks.
Now, let’s kick things off with various ways you can get free DoorDash gift cards by exploring the internet. Chances are you are familiar with the first hack on the list, but the rest may not have crossed your mind.

1. Get Free DoorDash Gift Cards
The easiest way to get free DoorDash gift cards is by answering surveys or joining rewards sites.
Each one of the best survey sites may have its unique variations, but the fundamental process usually consists of signing up on the platform, accomplishing the survey process, receiving points, and redeeming them for free online gift cards.
Similarly, other reward platforms offer a consistent process, but their greatest advantage is having a wide range of enjoyable tasks they provide. Beyond just surveys, users have the option to engage in activities like watching videos, gaming, online shopping, partaking in special offers, and much more.
The same goes with other reward-based platforms, but its greatest advantage is having a plethora of small tasks that you can enjoy. It’s not just about surveys; options range from video streaming to playing games.
There are a lot of online survey and reward programs out there, like Branded Survey, MyPoints, and Swagbucks, but I find the latter the most user-friendly.
I may be biased because it’s my go-to site for getting free DoorDash gift cards, but try to look at their Trustpilot rating and user reviews – surely you will find them reliable, too.
On Swagbucks, you earn points, known as SB, by completing quick tasks like taking surveys, watching videos, reviewing samples, surfing the web, etc.
It will allow you to redeem gift cards for as low as $3 (300 SB), while DoorDash gift cards are available in denominations of $15 (1,500 SB), $25 (2,500 SB), $50 (5,000 SB), and $100 (10,000 SB).
In any reward program, not just Swagbucks, consistency is key when earning more points. Keep an eye on the website for task opportunities and set realistic daily, weekly, or monthly earning goals.
2. DoorDash Referral Program
One of the most powerful marketing strategies of most businesses is word-of-mouth. Thanks to this, referral programs consistently present golden opportunities to earn gift cards.
When I joined DoorDash, I used my friends’ referral code to sign up and got about 50% off my first couple of orders. I got free food on DoorDash and my friend was compensated with credits for introducing the app to me. Clearly, everyone was happy (including DoorDash).
By introducing a friend to DoorDash through your referral link, you’ll get $5 to $20 credits when that person makes a purchase. Just make sure people use your unique referral code, otherwise, DoorDash can’t reward you for the effort.
To get your link, open your DoorDash app and navigate to the “Account” tab. Once you’re there, choose the “Refer Friends” option. Now, spread the love, or in this case, the link, to your circle of friends by clicking the “Share” button.
Moreover, I need to make this clear: This hack won’t grant you a free DoorDash gift card since the credits earned in the referral program are solely intended to reduce the price or fully cover your DoorDash expenses.
It doesn’t operate like the DoorDash rewards system, where credits can be redeemed as a gift card.
However, it functions similarly to the DoorDash gift card as both work as a virtual currency for use within the DoorDash app. It’s also even better if you have an e-gift card balance and DoorDash credits to your account – such a powerful combo for scoring free meals!
For example, if your order costs $20 and you have a free $15 DoorDash gift card balance and a $5 DoorDash credit, these amounts will be used to automatically pay for your DoorDash order. It’s a simple way to check out and save some cash.
3. Purchase Discounted DoorDash Gift Cards
Countless gift cards go unused every year. For example, there are those guys in our circle who rarely update their wardrobe beyond the essentials but end up with H&M gift cards after the holidays; or that one friend who’s convinced the whole world is Apple fan and showers everyone with Apple gift cards.
The reality is that these unwanted tokens of affection represent a substantial sum — we’re talking thousands, if not billions of dollars left on the proverbial table annually. Rather than going to waste, these unused gift cards pop up on online sites where folks can sell them for some extra cash. This turns into a good thing for savvy buyers who can pick them up for less than they’re worth, making the most of what others didn’t use.
As a smart buyer, you can purchase discounted DoorDash gift cards on various reselling sites like Raise, CardCash, and CardSwap. I can vouch for the reliability of these platforms, especially for scoring hard-to-find gift cards.
However, they may not offer bigger discounts than you usually find at a wholesale giant, Costco. These reselling sites may only give you around 10 to 15% discount.
When shopping at Costco, there’s a great deal available: if you buy five DoorDash e-gift cards, each valued at $100, you’ll get a 20% discount. Essentially, it’s like getting a free $100 DoorDash gift card, because you’ll save $100 in total, which you can use for your future DoorDash orders.
Seasoned budgeters consistently tout the benefits of bulk buying, and Costco’s discounted gift cards stand as a testament to this wisdom. On your next Costco visit, a glance at the gift card aisle might just reveal unexpected deals.
4. Maximize Savings with Cashback Apps
Did you know that you can earn DoorDash gift cards with only little pockets of time throughout the day? Cash-back apps are perfect for shoppers who love saving money and getting gift cards without putting much time and effort into earning them.
Through Rakuten, you can earn cashback points on practically every online purchase you make. There are over 2,000 online retailers and physical stores available on the platform.
All you need to do is to shop on the app as normal, and Rakuten will automatically add points to your account, with up to 40% cashback on your purchases.
You won’t notice any difference as compared to shopping directly on the store’s website, but since you’re using a cashback site, you’ll get cashback for every qualifying purchase.
PayPal Honey works similarly. But unlike Rakuten, it is an extension browser that finds discount codes for you as you shop online. Both platforms redeem rewards for DoorDash gift cards and other gift cards from other retailers like Amazon, Sephora, and Walmart.
There are a lot of cashback sites out there, but I find these sites the most trustworthy and easy to use. Moreover, for those who prefer flexible payouts, both platforms offer the option to redeem rewards as PayPal money.
5. Join the DoorDash Promotions for Exclusive Offers
Granted, this approach is a bit of a wild card compared to the more certain strategies listed here, banking on good old-fashioned luck to snag some free DoorDash gift cards. However, it demands the least amount of effort. If the stars are aligned, you could win massive rewards like getting a $100 DoorDash gift card for free.
Need an example? If you live in Canada, you’re in luck. DoorDash CA is generous in giving free stuff online almost every month. For instance, DoorDash CA on Instagram gave away $1,000 worth of DoorDash gift cards for the football match New York vs. Kansas City. Then in November of the same year, they offered prizes totaling $3,000 in DoorDash gift cards during the spooky season.
For both events, you can win free gift cards by following the contest rules provided in their Instagram posts. The best part? There’s no purchase requirement!
Sadly, gift card contests like these don’t happen often on DoorDash’s United States, Australia, and New Zealand official social media pages.
However, occasionally, they waive delivery fees and offer DoorDash coupon codes and credits, which help you cut down on your meal costs. This makes them almost as valuable as using a gift card.
That said, no matter which country you are situated in, make sure to follow DoorDash’s social media accounts or subscribe to their newsletter. After all, can you truly consider yourself a DoorDash fan if you haven’t taken these steps?
6. Earn DoorDash Rewards with Your Credit Card
Let your daily spending do double duty by turning it into gift cards. Ideal for those who want to passively pocket free cash, this strategy is a no-brainer.
Plenty of credit cards come with reward schemes that convert your shopping points into goodies like cash returns, bill reductions, and – that’s right – DoorDash gift cards.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred card, in particular, receives high marks for its consistent value to DoorDash users. It comes packed with benefits, including a free DashPass subscription, waived delivery fees, and a bunch of other exclusive offers.
On top of that, the card dishes out even tastier rewards for those who love dining out and jet-setting:
- 2x points per dollar spent on eating out at restaurants.
- 2x points per dollar spent on travel.
- 1x point per dollar on all purchases.
Each accumulated points are redeemable through DoorDash gift cards at the Chase Ultimate Rewards website. Here, many gift cards come with a 10% discount, allowing you to stretch your points further, whether for more gift cards or other rewards.
For true DoorDash enthusiasts, consider the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard, a joint venture with Chase. This card provides perks that outshine those offered by most other Chase cards.
Holders of the DoorDash Rewards Mastercard enjoy:
- Free DashPass membership
- DashPass anniversary bonus
- 4% cashback on Caviar and DoorDash orders
- 3% cashback per dollar spent on restaurants
- 2% cashback per dollar spent on grocery stores or in-house purchases
- 1% cashback per dollar spent on all other purchases.
Redeeming gift cards with this card is straightforward. Simply access the DoorDash app, Caviar app, or Chase app and use your cashback rewards or points to claim DoorDash gift cards, with no minimum balance requirement.
FAQs
How do you get a free DoorDash card?
Filling out surveys, signing up for points sites, jumping on DoorDash promos, and using cashback apps and credit cards are all tried-and-true ways to score free DoorDash gift cards.
The only true ‘no-strings-attached’ scenario for receiving a free DoorDash gift card is through gifting or as a bonus with bulk purchases – for instance, an additional $100 gift card upon purchasing $400 worth of DoorDash gift cards. Such deals are less about hustling and more about strategic purchasing.
The only instance where you might genuinely receive a free DoorDash card with no strings attached is when it’s gifted to you by friends or family or when you bulk purchase gift cards (e.g. buy $400 worth of DoorDash gift card and get a free $100 DoorDash gift card in return).
How long is a DoorDash gift card PIN?
The DoorDash gift card pin consists of 11 numbers.
There are a lot of gift card generators or sites giving DoorDash gift card codes in 11 unique numbers, but most of them are scams.
It’s important to understand that the DoorDash PIN can be found on the back of a physical gift card or is provided with a digital gift card earned through various means (survey sites, rewards apps, cashback apps, etc.)
Your gift card’s security relies on this PIN, which is required for activation and redemption in the DoorDash app and is usable only once. For the sake of your card’s security and to protect the funds it contains, never share this PIN with anyone.
After redeeming your gift card in the app, the credit will be added directly to your DoorDash account, allowing you to enjoy a variety of dining options delivered to your door.
